Overklokbaarheid
Zoals iedereen wel weet is de gehele Core reeks flink te overklokken. In eerste instantie had ik een 8400 van coolprices waarbij een temp sensor stuk was en heb die ge RMAd, met als verzoek gelijk een stepping E0. De temps vielen gelijk een stuk beter uit en hij was stukken beter te overklokken dan de vorige C) (geloof ik) revisie die ik eerst had.

De Core2Duo E8xxx reeks, codename: "Wolfdale".Zijn de opvolgers van de Core2Duo E6x5x/E6xxx reeks CPU's(codename: "Conroe" HET fenomeen van 2006 :)).

Overklokken gaat bij mij erg goed, op full load met Orthos blijft hij op 4 Ghz onder de 54 graden (dit met een Alpine 7 koeler). Dit op een Vcore van 1.375. Ik denk dat hij nog wel harder kan, maar dan moet ik er wat meer tijd insteken en ik vind het zo snel genoeg. Zelf heb ik gewoon via de BIOS overgeklokt, wat prima wil met een asus P5K.

Hier kan ik eigenlijk vrij kort over zijn: ondanks dat ik een slechte batch heb is het nog steeds een uitstekende overclocker. Zonder voltageverhoging is de E8400 over te clocken naar 3600Mhz. Ook 4000Mhz is mogelijk voor 24/7 gebruik. Om de 4Ghz te halen is wel een kleine voltageverhoging nodig: 1.3V, een waarde die zelfs met de boxed koeler nog acceptabele temperaturen oplevert.

Bij mij slecht als ik m overklokte naar meer dan 110% starte mijn pc niet meer op..... dit heb ik gedaan met de AIBooster van Asus wat bij mn moederbord zat (P5KC). weet niet of heb aan mn processor ligt maar die heb ik overgeclockt dus.... Tips zijn welkom.... Ik ga, als ik terug ben van vakantie, eens proberen om met de overclock tutorial van hardware.info via bios de processor te overclocken, denk dat dat beter ga ... zeer goed, die van mij draaid 24/7 onder een simpel luchtkoelertje op 4.2ghz met 1.35v, met een betere koeling is hier zeker meer uit te halen, ik heb zelfs een keer gebenched op 4.6ghz wat toch wel behoorlijk snel is. ik moet wel zeggen dat ik een hele goeie batch heb maar dat in principe elke e8400 wel de 4ghz zou moete kunnen halen met een simpel koelertje zoals de coolermaster hyper tx2 bijv

De best overklokkende processor van dit moment, afgezien van de QX-serie (dievoor de gemiddelde pc-gebruiker toch onbetaalbaar is)en de E8500 (die ongeveer ¤50-¤100 duurder is (op het moment van schrijven).Ik heb hem zelf op 3,6ghz lopen, maar ik weet dat er nog veel meer in zit. Ik zie ze hier en daar boven de 4,5ghz uit komen. Het sterkste punt van de E8400.

De E8400 is kwa overclocken echt een super processor. Hij word niet echt warm en kan een erg hoge FSB (front side bus) halen. Met de standaard koeler is 3.6Ghz stabiel al een eitje. Met een goede aftermarket cooler is 4.2Ghz stabiel zelfs te halen. Uiteraard wel met een wat hoger voltage.

Voor overklokken kan ik deze zeker aanraden, ik behaalde een fsb van max 400 maar me dunkt doe ik iets verkeerd.. als ik hoor dat je gemakkelijk fsb 450 zou moeten kunnen halen, hou er wel bij dat niet alle cpu's bv E8400 dezelfde overklokbaarheid heeft.
