Finnish phone maker Nokia is (finally) getting into the app store game with the Ovi Store, but the service's launch isn't really (or yet) what you'd expect. Although not yet officially out and fighting similar services from Apple and RIM, the Ovi Store has become available in several countries on various phone models and is offering for download free and commercial content like apps, games, ringtones, wallpapers, and videos. With phone sales down due to the the economic and financial crisis, Nokia is gunning for a sweet profit from content delivery, which is nice, it just won't be that simple even for the number one phone seller. According to reports, the Ovi Store can be accessed in Australia, Singapore, as well as a few European countries (Ireland, Spain) but these are cvasi-test runs for the official launch which is expected to come this week.
