Dell starts selling the S1709W and S1909WX widescreen LCDs

Dell has just added a couple of new affordable widescreen monitors to its offers, the 17-inch S1709W and the 19-incher S1909WX. Both featuring a native resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels, the LCDs have some slim, sleek and secsi black bezels, consume less than 2W when in standby and provide D-Sub connectivity, with the 19-inch model also boasting DVI with HDCP. The S1709W comes with a response time of 8ms, a contrast ratio of 600:1 and a brightness of 250 cd/m2 while the S1909WX can (try and) brag with a 5ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a typical brightness of 300 cd/m2.
