| Halverwege November zal Intel officieel de eerste processors uit de nieuwe Penryn reeks introduceren. Deze nieuwe chips worden geproduceerd middels Intels nieuwe 45 nm productieprocédé. De kleinere transistors zorgen voor een lager stroomverbruik en zetten daardoor ook direct de deur open voor hogere klokfrequenties. Daarnaast heeft Intel nog een aantal kleine en grotere aanpassingen aan de architectuur voltrokken. Voor de meeste nieuwe 45 nanometer CPU's moeten we wachten tot januari, met één uitzondering; het nieuwe topmodel Core 2 Exteme QX9650, een quad-core op 3.0 GHz, is al vanaf 12 november beschikbaar. Overklokbaarheid
De overklokbaarheid van deze chip is gewoon matig te noemen, de oude 65nm quad cores komen gemiddeld een stuk verder... Mijn Q6600 G0 haalt op luchtkoeling zo'n 3730 mhz stabiel, verder durfde ik niet te gaan aangezien we dan echt in het gevarenzone komen kwa temps...Waterkoeling zou er misschien zelfs 4ghz uit kunnen persen... Ik kwam met mijn Q9450 niet verder dan 3380mhz stabiel terwijl de koeling nog wat rek h ... Lees meer (4 reacties  ) |

De Q9450 is nu een weekje in mijn bezit en ben er al lekker mee aan het spelen geweest. Tot nu toe is deze processor zeker geen miskoop geweest, hij is erg snel in applicaties die meerdere cores gebruikt en in dual core applicaties staat deze processor ook zeker zijn mannetje.
Overklokbaarheid

Overklokbaarheid
Valt best wel mee, maar super hoog krijg ik hem niet zonder dat hij overhit. Hij loopt momenteel stabiel op 3,4GHz zonder voltage verhoging. Dit met een temperatuur van 45-50° in idle. Ik zou hem graag hoger overclocken maar toen ik mijn pc kocht dacht ik niet zo aan overclocken en naam 677MHz geheugen, die niet zo goed kan volgen.
