Overklokbaarheid
De Q6600 is redelijk goed overklokbaar. Op 1,45V krijg ik mijn Q6600 stabiel op 3,4GHz en wordt deze met een Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme maximaal 60°C.
Maar de CPU kan ook perfect stabiel werklen op maar 1,15V en 2,4GHz, hierdoor produceert deze zeer weinig warmte in vergelijking met de standaard warmte productie.

De Overklokbaarheid van de ''Q6600 G0'' vind ik zeer goed. Hij draait nu op 3.0 ghz met een Vcore van 1.2V.
De temperatuur blijft netjes onder de 62 graden na 10 uur Prime, dus hij draait hier 24/7 op. Dit is gemeten met Core Temp en Everest. Zie http://i31.tinypic.com/34ydzsm.jpg

Deze processor is zeer goed overclockbaar. Voor de komst van de Q9xxx serie van intel was dit een van de overclock paradepaardjes van intel. De processor is gebakken volgens het 65nm procede waardoor deze processor (zeker in vergelijking met een Q9xxx serie processor) behoorlijk warm kan worden. Ik had al sinds augustus 2006 een Core 2 Duo, namelijk de E6600. Deze processor is voor mij tot op de dag van vandaag eigenlijk nog steeds toereikend, maar de overklokbaarheid van mijn exemplaar viel een beetje tegen (kreeg hem niet verder dan 3,5 GHz met stevige luchtkoeling en X38 moederbord).
