During todays IDF keynote, Intel showed a wafer with a bunch of prototype chips that offer more than a Teraflop computational power, which means that each of these chips can perform more than a trillion operations per second. The prototype processor consists of no less than 80 cores. To ensure there's enough bandwith between the processor and the system memory, Intel experimented with another technology: they've stacked the teraflop processor on top of a memory chip, connecting each of the 80 cores to its own 256 MB SRAM module. The teraflop processor is a true experimental product and is certainly not suitable for actual use. The 80 cores have a very limited instructionset and are defenitely not compatible with x86.

To ensure enough bandwith Intel stacked the processor on top of a memory chip. This results in a processor with integrated memory.
