Heat production

I can't comment since I have always had good fans and Intel stock fans don't do it for me.

Be prepared to notice how Core 2 & core 2 (Core 0, Core 1) are always 5 degrees higher than the other cores, or they heat up faster than the other cores.

Overclocking

Solid overclocker despite the low multiplier count

At default I run it at 3.609 Ghz (401 x 9). Runs stably very very fast.

I was able to overclock it to 3.825ghz (425 x 9) but fallout 3 would crash after a few minutes of gaming so I returned it to 3.609ghz

Once I upgrade to the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R, I will run it at 4.050 ghz (450 x 9). since I have read that it can do these speed, I will only invest on better cooling if need arises.

As long as it is a good overclocker, I do not plan on upgrading anytime soon.

The overclocking ability ensures that you get $1,000 performance for $200 price.

Performance

4 cores and 8MB L2 cache assist in encoding of videos. I say this because I had a Core 2 Duo e6600 with similar set up settings, but since I got this, my video encoding increased tremendously. Gaming wasn't as noticable until i started playing demanding games like Crysis, Farcry 2etc.

Even at default speeds, multitasking has never been a problem.

I never had any need to overclock so as to be able to play games or run apps at acceptable speeds. I only overclock so as to try and attain high scores in benchmarks
