nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX Test Every die-hard gamers wet dream! |
11/08/2006 |
| Windows Vista is still on the books to be released early next year, and one of the new features of the operating system will be DirectX 10. Up till now there were no graphics cards on the market that were DirectX compliant, but tody brings a change to that statement. nVidia is releasing a new card based on the G80 chip that is fully compliant with DirectX 10 and is the fastest card we ever came across: The nVidia GeForce 8800. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a sample of Point-of-View and ran it through our extensive test suite. |

GeForce 8800 GTX: Point-of-View vs. Leadtek vs. Sparkle The new nVidia monster from three manufacturers |
11/08/2006 |
| You can't have missed the fact that nVidia has unleashed their GeForce 8800 GTX today, upsetting the entire graphics card market. The new addition is faster than any current offerings, and that alone we think is enough reason to go out and buy one. However it is not only speed that counts with this card, the GeForce 8800 card is the first card that is DirectX 10 compatible. In our test that was published today we have already described all the new technologies in the card, and put it through all our standard benchmarks. We have received the new card from three manufacturers: Point-of-View, Leadtek en Sparkle. It is no surprise that these three cards are all very similar, as nVidia usually only works with a few partners after introduction of a card. As the partners are not allowed to overclock the card, all clock speeds are identical as well. This however does not stop us to introduce these three card to you in a seperate review. |
