| Since a home server will be running 24/7, you want hard disks with as low as possible energy consumption. Western Digital has just the thing you want in the shape of the Caviar GP (for Green Power) model range. We choose four of the 1 TB drives. If you are going to use Windows Home Server, you will be using Microsoft's Drive Extender technology - if you go for another OS, we recommend you use a RAID-1 setup. | ||

| The Chenbro ES340 is without a doubt the ultimate case for a home server. The case is really small, but still offers room for up to four hot-swappable SATA-harddisks though. Fanatics could even fit a fifth 2.5" haddisk and a slimline optical drive in the case. This case allows usage of Mini-ITX and DTX motherboards and comes with an external power supply. Though the price is high and the supply low, this is the ultimate case for our luxurious home server. | ||
