Despite the negative publicity regarding nVidia, its partners still have faith in the company. Fudzilla states that a 'large amount' of Fermi chips have been ordered.

Though the performance of the Fermi chip is still unknown, several partners have already made large orders for cards based on the new GPU. Now that the GT200 chips are diminishing in availability, everyone's waiting for nVidia's new chip. Fermi is to sport over three billion transistors and was designed with GPGPU as its primary task, though it's expected that the gaming performance will be excellent as well. nVidia states that the chip will atleast be faster than AMD's recently-introduced Radeon HD 5000 series.

nVidia is to introduce the high-end Fermi cards later this quarter. According to Fudzilla, a Radeon 5850/ 5870 equivalent is to be expected, as well as a dual-chip version which is to surpass the Radeon 5870 X2. By the end of 2010's first quarter, cheaper versions of the card are to be released, in a similar price range as the Radeon 5750 and 5770 graphics cards.
