Fudzilla reports that some of nVidia's partners have stopped selling graphics cards such as the GeForce GTX 285, GTX 275 and GTX 260, since the availability of the required GT200 GPU's was ever-diminishing. Last week, it was rumored that nVidia had discontinued producing the GT200b-based cards, reason being that they were no longer profitable given the current circumstances. Though at that point no one could either deny nor confirm the rumors, Fudzilla has since received confirmation from several partners.
Brands aren't mentioned, but the lack of availability of the aforementioned GTX 200 graphics cards would be enough reason to stop selling these cards. AMD's introduction of the Radeon HD5800 series has struck nVidia hard, despite the fact that these new DirectX 11 cards are only available scarcely. The HD5800 cards reach greater performance at a lower power consumption and price range than nVidia's cards, resulting in a userbase decline.
Whether nVidia will solve the issues regarding the high-end GTX cards is still unclear. It's possible that nVidia is focusing on a successful launch of their new GT300 series, codenamed Fermi.
