Thecus presents the successor to its N7700 NAS, The N7700PRO. Like its predecessor, this NAS has room for up to seven 3,5" SATA disks, which can be placed in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD configurations. The NAS supports online expansion and migration of the RAID configuration. For users in need of more than seven drive bays, up to five N7700PRO's can be linked to one another, after which they can be controlled from a single master unit.

The NAS is powered by an unspecified Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Thecus has equipped the N7700PRO with 4 GB of 800 MHz DDR2-memory and a PCI-e slot. The latter makes it possible to install a 10 Gigabit Ethernet adaptor in the device.

The N7700PRO is compatible with the Ext3, XFS and ZFS file systems. Thecus' new NAS supports iSCSI initiators and thin provisioning. A dual DOM design has been used to increase the device's reliability.

Additional information on Thecus' N7700PRO can be found on the product page.
