Apart from its successful Mugen 2, Scythe also has several other CPU-coolers, designed for specific usergroups. There's the Shuriken for compact systems such as media centers, and the Orochi for people who prefer silent operation. The latest addition is the Samurai ZZ, a heatpipe cooler that blows air in the direction of the processor socket. This benefits the components around the processor as well, which isn't the case with Tower-coolers such as the Mugen 2.

Including the 92 mm fan, the cooling block has dimensions of 94 x 122 x 94 mm and weighs 472 grams. The base of the cooler consists of nickled copper and the three U-shaped heatpipes account for a fast heat dissipation. The fan rotates at speeds ranging from 300 to 2500 RPM and produces up to 31,07 dB(A). The Samurai ZZ is compatible with several generations of processor sockets: apart from supporting Intel's sockets LGA775, 1156 abd 1366, as well as AMD's AM2+/AM3, the cooler can also be used in systems featuring Intel's old socket 478 or AMD's socket 754 and 939.

Scythe has specified a recommended price of 16,75 (excl. VAT) for its new Samurai ZZ cooler.
