Unlike earlier rumors, the Radeon HD 5700 series will not feature 1120 shaders. ExtraHardware has released slides depicting the Juniper chip with a maximum of 800 shaders.

The slides show that the Radeon HD 5770 will be equipped with 800 shaders; an equal amount as the Radeon HD 4800 series. The slower 5750 will sport 720 shaders. The chips are clocked at 850 respectively 700 MHz, with memory frequencies of 1200 and 1150 MHz. With only half the shader-amount of the Cypress chip, the 5770 has a maximum power consumption of 108 W (load) and 18 Watt while idle. The 5750 has an even lower usage: 86 W under load and 16 W in idle. A remarkable fact is that the maximum power consumption of the 5750 is about equal to the idle usage of the Radeon HD 4000 series (90 W). Lastly, the slides state that the new mid-range cards are to be introduced on the 13th of October.

It's uncertain whether the slides are real though; the 5750 image clearly shows that the graphics card has been pasted into the slide. The introduction date however seems accurate, given Sapphire's Facebook announcement that Juniper will indeed be launched on the 13th, later this month.
