Lancom has introduced the 1821n Wireless router, the successor to the 1821+ Wireless ADSL-router. The new VPN-router connects home users, offices and companies and has an ADSL2+ modem, ISDN and VPN-gateway integrated. As the name suggests, the device supports 802.11n, for both the 2.4 GHz- and 5GHz-frequencies. The router can also be used as switch- and printserver. Security options include WPA, AES and 802.1x/EAP (WPA Enterprise) encryption. Lancom has integrated a Firewall, denial-of-service-protection and real-time monitoring and loggin on the router.
Lancom's 1821n Wireless is available at a recommended price of 880 euro, which'll allow up to five VPN-channels. The amount of VPN-channels can be expanded up to 25, an option that'll set you back an extra 200 euro,
