Though graphics cards predominantly feature a PCIe x16 connector nowadays, not every motherboard actually has those slots available. Following competitor HIS, manufacturer Club3D has introduced a number of alternative GPU solutions, equipped with a PCIe x1 connector. This could be an attractive solution for owners of a small ITX system who wish to replace their IGP with a more powerful, physical graphics card.
The HIS ATI Radeon HD 4350 iFan, which has been reported on earlier, features a core clock frequency of 600 MHz and 512 MB of 800MHz-clocked DDR2 memory. The card is actively cooled and sports D-Sub, DVI and HDMI-outputs.
Club3D has two PCIe x1 graphics cards available: a GeForce 8400 GS and a 9500 GT. The first has 256 MB of GDDR3-memory and is passively cooled. The card has D-Sub and DVI-outputs. The actively cooled GeForce 9500 GT has its core clocked at 550 MHz, shaders at 1375 MHz and 512 MB of GDDR3-memory at 700 MHz. This card lacks HDMI as well, featuring only D-Sub and DVI outputs.
The Club3D 8400 GS should be available at prices of about 40 euro. The 9500 GT has a 75 euro pricetag. No pricing information is available for HIS' PCIe x1 GPU.
