British manufacturer Cambrionix has introduced a USB hub with a stunning 49 ports. The hub is compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices and is powered by an external 5 V DC power supply that can provide up to 28 Amps of power. A standard ATX power supply can be used for this.


The ports are positioned in row of seven on a 220 x 240 x 30 mm PCB that can be placed in a case using M4 mounting points

Each port will provide the connected device with up to 500 mA and is protected against ESD. An on/off switch and Power On/Power Good indicator lights have been also been placed on the board.

According to Cambrionix, the hub is perfectly suited for the mass-scale programming of USB devices, and can also be used to create a large amount of storage capacity. In the UK the hub can be purchased with one year of warranty; it bears a pricetagf of 543 Euro (incl. VAT).
