With the VHS Saver, Pinnacle claims to have found the ideal solution for users wishing to improve the lifetime and quality of their VHS-recordings by copying them to DVD. Pinnacle's VHS Saver is a USB 2.0 video-recording device that is bundled with the Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder-software, which allows users to easily copy movies from almost any videorecorder to DVD, even without requiring a computer.

A few of the advantages of DVD's over the older VHS technology are:

  • VHS-tapes will wear down when used often.
  • The quality of VHS-tapes diminishes over the course of only a few years, even when the tapes are unused.
  • Most users have replaced their old VCR's with DVD-players.

Pinnacle's VHS Saver can be used in combination with Windows XP- (SP 2 or higher) or Windows Vista systems and bears a recommended price of € 59
