Yesterday, reports surfaced that PowerColor had released an AGP-version of the Radeon HD 4770 graphics card. AMD's 40nm RV740 chip in combination with the old AGP-interface would be a nice upgrade for users wanting to crank just that extra bit of performance out of their old computers. PowerColor's Radeon HD 4770 512 MB GDDR5 with serial number 1A1-G000004992 was available on Amazon.com, featuring a US $99 pricetag.

Fudzilla however has bad news for those who got their hopes up, after inquiring with PowerColor, it seems that mistakes have been made on Amazon's end. PowerColor reported that there is no AGP-version of the HD 4770 planned -atleast not in the near future-. Nevertheless, the company is working on AGP-versions of the HD 4600 series.

The fact that Amazon has updated the product page seems to confirm Fudzilla's claim.
