MSI has launched the GX623 and GX633, two compact gaming notebooks. Both systems feature the well-known black MSI colors with red accents. The machines come with 'ECO Engine power'  technology, to make them run more efficiently. To get the most out of the laptops, MSI has also integrated a Turbo button, which -when pressed- automatically overclocks the device's CPU.

The difference between the two machines is to be found in their hardware: the MSI GX623 uses an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, while the GX633 has an AMD Turion X2 Ultra onboard. The notebook with the Core 2 Duo uses the PM45 chipset and combines it with an HD4670 Mobility 512 MB graphics card. The GX633 combines nVidia's MCP77 chipset with a GeForce GT130M 512 MB graphics card.

Both notebooks can be equipped with up to 4 GB of DDR2-800 memory, a hard disk of 160 to 500 GB and an optional Blu-ray combo-drive. The machines feature a 4-in-1 cardreader, webcam, Gigabit LAN and an 802.11n module for wireless networks. Also present are HDMI and e-SATA connectors. Both notebooks weigh 2.7 kilograms, but it seems that the model sporting Intel's processor is more efficient than the AMD one: the first has a 90 Watt adaptor while the GX623 will be accompanied by a 120 Watt adaptor.
