RipNAS claims to be releasing the world's first NAS device with SSD's. Though SSD's are becoming cheaper, faster and larger in size, no other manufacturer has decided to launch an SSD-based NAS yet. RipNAS will combine two 250 GB SSD's and place them in a silver-colored aluminum chassis with dimensions of 10 cm x 43 cm x 38 cm.

The device is likely to be equipped with an Intel Atom 330 processor clocked at 1,6 GHz, as well as 2 GB of memory. The system is able to rip audio from CD's, stream media and -obviously- function as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device.
The system is available in both a version with SSD's and a version with two 1.5 TB hard disks and comes with 1 year of factory warranty. Information regarding pricing and availability is still unknown.
