Intel is working on two new mini-ITX motherboards. The Intel Desktop Board D945GSEJT is meant for use in a nettop or other small case. The board features a 45nm Intel Atom N270 CPU and has the mobile version of Intel's 945GSE Express Chipset integrated. This chipset uses the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which provides the graphics of the device. The board also features a PCI Express mini card-connector, PCI-slots, SATA-connectors, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet and High Definition Audio.

The D945GSEJT is sized 170 x 170 mm. With the passive cooler included, its height is only 20 mm. The motherboard will become available around mid 2009 at a still unknown price.

The second new motherboard is the Intel Desktop Board DG41MJ, compatible with Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors with a power consumption of up to 65 Watt and a 1333 MHz FSB. This motherboard is also meant for small chassis or nettopts. The DG41MJ features Intel's G41 Express chipset, which allows the board to have an integrated VGA- and DVI-connector, Intel High Definition Audio and 10/100/1000 Ethernet. This mini-ITX board is Vista Premium certified and has already become available.

En waar blijft ni PCIe :s. Zo'n bordjes zijn perfect om een raid controller aan te hangen en een nasje te bouwen. Of een htpc van te maken.
