Recently, details surfaced on the extreme Radeon HD4890 graphics card by ASUS. The card will feature a large cooler and an extra Fujitsu 'multi layer polymer' capacitor on the rear of the PCB. These adjustments should keep the card more stable when facing higher clock frequencies. For the nVidia fanatics, ASUS now introduces a GeForce GTX 285 with the same Fujitsu Super ML-capacitor.

ASUS claims that the extra Fujitsu capacitors provides a more stable power provision to the GPU, resulting in enhanced overclocking potential. The chip would also keep the GPU up to 15 degrees Celsius cooler than a reference model. The memory is kept eight degrees cooler. The GTX 285 with this Fujitsu capacitor is also better capable of handling temperatures of below -15 degrees Celsius. ASUS also reports that the card's performance could easily be 10% higher with this chip. The new GTX 285 Top features clock frequencies of 650 MHz for its core, 1550 MHz for the shader units and 2600 MHz for the GDDR3 memory.
