On the XtemeSystems forum, images have appeared showing an ATI Radeon HD 4830 graphics card without the ocnventional 6-pin power connector. The card is designed by a company called Triplex and features the reference clock frequencies; 575 MHz for the core and 900 MHz for the memory.
Usually, graphics cards such as the mentioned HD 4830 feature an additional connector to provide enough power to the card when the PCI-Express bus isn't sufficient. Triplex seems to have found a way around this.

The HD 4830 has 512 MB of 256-bit GDDR3-memory, 640 stream processors and DirectX 10.1 support. Connectivity options include DVI, D-Sub and HDMI. The Triplex card cannotb e used in a CrossFire configuration, but according to the user who posted the new on XtremeSystems, there are also plans to release an HD 4850 without power connector in a month.
