Yesterday, we reported on the introduction of a mATX X58 motherboard by MSI. Today, the company has announced another model; the full-size ATX X58 Pro-E motherboard.
This socket 1366 motherboard supports Intel's Core i7 processors and uses MSI's DrMOS technology with a 4+1 Voltage Regulator Module to provide the CPU of power. There's room for six DDR3-memory modules and three PCIe x16 cards, which allows ATI CrossFireX configurations.
Apart from the six SATA-II ports that are connected to the ICH10R southbridge, the X58 Pro-E also features a seperate controllerchip with another SATA-II connector and an eSATA port. There's also Gigabit Ethernet, Realtek ALC888-audio, USB 2.0 and FireWire present on the motherboard.
The MSI X58 Pro is already available at several webshops, priced around 187 euro. It's expected that the X58 Pro-E will be slightly more expensive because of the GreenPower design, which also includes the used DrMOS chip.
