The upcoming additions to Intel's Atom Z-series -which recently made the news- will be released later this month. Intel officially announced the Z550 and Z515 during the Atom series first birthday. The procesors feature respective clock frequencies of 2 and 1.2 GHz.

Both chips are produced at 45nm, feature 512 kB of cache and a 533 MHz FSB. The Z550 has HyperThreading, while the Z515 is more economical with its Burst Performance Technology, which automatically adjusts the clock frequency based on the load.

A price for these new Atom processors has not yet been mentioned. It's expected that the Z550 will be used in netbooks and nettops, where the Z515 is to find its way into mobile internet devices.
