Recently, reports surfaced on the possibility of using SLI on a non-certified Gigabyte EX58-UD4 motherboard. To use the SLI function, a BIOS had to be used which was intended for the EX58-UD4P version of the motherboard.

Earlier this week, Gigabyte has announced that it will be launching official BIOS versions with SLI-support for all X58-based motherboards. Apart from the GA-EX58-UD4, it means that the GA-EX58-UD3R will also be able to benefit from the technology. SLI-compatibility was already present in the other X58 motherboards.

With the official BIOS updates, it's no longer required to void your warranty by flashing an uncertified BIOS version. Additional information and the new BIOS updates can be downloaded from Gigabyte's website
