Sony's new camcorder supports GPS
Sony will release the successor to its HDR-TG1/TG3E camcorder in May. The new HDR-TG7VE brings several improvements. The company's been able to shrink the camcorder even further, to dimensions of only 30 x 117 x 62 mm, making it one of the smallest available.
Apart from the decrease in size, the weight has also been reduced by 10 grams, making a total of 290 grams, battery included. Sony's HDR-TG7VE will feature an integrated GPS-module, which'll allow usage of the so-called 'geotagging'. The integrated memory has been doubled to 16 GB, which is capable of recording six hours of Full-HD quality. Lastly, the user interface has also been improved to make things easier.
The other specifications of the TG7E are similar to those of the TG1, which means the camcorder is able to record AVCHD, H.264 and MPEG4 with a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, that it's equipped with a 2.7-inch touchscreen and the same 10x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. Additional information can be found on Sony's productpage.
The recommended price of Sony's HDR-TG7VE will be €900 at the launch, somewhere in May.
