With the first generation of netbooks widely available, manufacturers now have to fight for their market positions. To compete with the opponent, ASUS came up with the luxurious S101 series, MSI launched a netbook with extended battery life, and Samsung chose to use a VIA processor in its NC-10 netbook. The latter now introduces a new netbook, the N310.
With the sleek and curvy finish, this netbook has quite a remarkable design. The 10.1 inch screen is also slightly unordinary, it features a 1024x576 resolution and a 16:9 aspect-ratio. The N310 will be available in four different colors, being black, orange, teal and blue. The remaining specifications reveal an 802.11g wireless adaptor, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 1 GB of memory and a 160 GB hard disk. The system is basedo n Intel's Atom processor, but it's still uncertain which model is used. A cardreader is also present.
The N310 netbook weighs 1.23 kilograms and can run up to 5 hours on its standard battery. The optional battery can increase this time up to a claimed 11 hours. Expansion options include a Bluetooth 2.0 module, HSDPA network functionality and WiBRO (Korean WiMAX standard). The N310 will become available starting May.
