Taiwanese manufacturer Evercool launches a new CPU cooler in its Transformer series. The cooler, branded "Transformer 4", features four bent coper heatpipes. Early 2008, the company already introduced the Transformer 6, which had six heatpipes. Despite the decreased amount of heatpipes on this model, Evercool claims that the cooling performance is of no lesser grade. The reason for this is the adjustments made in the design: the cooler is now placed vertically, which allows direct contact between the heatpipes and the IHS to improve heat dissipation. There's also two bundled fans with the cooler which can be placed on the aluminum cooling fins.

The cooler weighs 844 grams and supports multiple CPU-sockets thanks to the enclosed universal backplate and mounting kits. It's compatible with Intel's LGA1366 and LGA775, as well as AMD's K8 and AM2 sockets. Evercool claims the fans produce no more than 21 dbA at their maximum speed of 1000 RPM.

Pricing and availability is still unknown.
