Plextor has launched a new internal DVD-ReWriter with ATAPI/IDE-interface (PX-860A) and SATA (PX-860SA). The speeds of these new optical drives are specified at 20x for DVD+/- R, 12x for DVD+/- R DL, 8x for DVD+RW, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD-RAM at 12x, DVD-ROM 16x, CD-R 40x, CD-RW 32x and CD-ROM 40x.

The new drives are further-developed versions of the PX-820 series and come with two front panels, making them suited for both black and white cases. Nero Express 7 Essentials is also bundled with the PX-860A and PX-860SA burners.
