Last week, Gainward launched an HD 4850 graphics card with 512 MB of GDDR5-memory. Fudzilla reports that the card has now become available at retailers. This HD 4850 Golden Sample has GLH added to its name, which stands for Goes Like Hell.

The core has a clock frequency of 700 MHz and the GDDR5-memory runs at 800 MHz (3200 MHz effectively). These speeds position the card somewhere between the HD 4850 and HD 4870. With a price of about 160 Euro, it's uncertain whether people will be wanting to pay the price for GDDR5-memory, as the HD4870 is in the same price range.
