MSI introduces the VR430, a 14.1 inch notebook for the budget market. The machine is based on AMD's Puma platform and can be purchased with a Turion X2 Ultra or a Sempron processor. The onboard HD3200 videochip provides DirectX 10.1 support and smooth display of HD video. The screen has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, which means that it is capable of playing back 720p video.

The VR430 can be equipped with up to 4 GB of DDR2 memory and a 320 GB hard disk. The notebook has a 4-in-1 cardreader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, Gigabit LAN and the standard features such as USB and audio. A wireless N module has been integrated for network connectivity. The battery of the VR430 is available in a 6-cell and a 9-cell edition. The 14.1 inch notebook does not yet have a recommended price, but should become available shortly.
