Intel has decreased the price for a number of SSD's as a result of the decline in flashchip demand. The company's X25-M 80 GB SSD now bears a recommended price of $390, a price cut of almost 34%. When Intel first introduced this SSD, it came with a RRP of $595.

Mid-January, Intel already announced a price-cut that decreased prices by 20 to 30%. The X25-M 160 GB still has a pricetag of $765. The faster X25-E SSD's have become slightly cheaper, the 32 GB version now costs $415, its introduction price in October was $695. Also announced is that the 64 GB version of this SLC-based hard disk will cost $795.

The price cuts of these 2.5"  SSDs will also be seen in the smaller 1.8" SSD market segment.
