Thermaltake has announced three new additions to its Litepower series. Because the company wishes to create stable and most prominently, affordable, power supplies with the new Litepower 350 watt, Litepower 450 watt and Litepower 500 watt, they lack a coat finish. Combined with the high efficiency and 80+ certification, these power supplies would be the ideal solution for system builders. To obtain the 80+ certification, a consistent efficiency of atleast 82% has to be reached when the supply is under a load of 20%, 50% and 100% of its total capacity. In previous times, an efficiency of 80% was enough for the Bronze certificate.

Thermaltake's Litepower series will be launched as a cheap, yet decent, line of power supplies

All three of the supplies also live up to Intel's latest ATX 12V 2.3 standard. The Litepower PSUs feature one PCI-E 6-pin power connector, two SATA connectors, a floppy-connector and a number of 4-pin connectors.  All next to the conventional CPU and motherboard-connectors of course. The 350 Watt, 450 Watt and 500 Watt supplies have a respective power of 28 Amps, 34 Amps and 36 Amps on their two individual +12 Volt lines. The supplies have active cooling, which is done by a 120 mm fan that spins at 1800 RPM.  Because of the lack of a paint finish, Thermaltake's new power supplies will only be available in silver.
