Shuttle launches P45 barebone

Shuttle's new SP45H7 is a barebone based on Intel's P45 chipset. THe barebone has a black finish and compact 300W power supply. By using the P45 chipset, the barebone is able to handle all existing S775 processors, including the 45nm models with an FSB of 1600 MHz.

The barebone's motherboard uses so-called solid capacitors and has four DDR2 memory slots which are able to control up to 16GB of RAM. The SP45H7 barebone is also suited for gamers, space has been reserved for larger graphics cards with a dual slot cooler. Thanks to the P45 chipset, the graphics card can run at its full 16x speed, which means that even the fastest graphics cards can be used. On top of the GPU slot, there's also a regular PCI slot available, which can be used for a TV-card or soundcard

The BIOS of Shuttle's SP45H7 features several overclocking options, the integrated Dynamic Overclocking Technology (D.O.C.) makes the system run in a Turbo mode. This Turbo mode dynamically overclocks the processor, dependant on the system's load. When a game or other processor-intense task is performed, the processor will automatically overclock itself to perform even better. 

The barebone has three SATA connectors on both the in- and outside, making a total of six. The I/O panel also has FireWire, Gigabit LAN, USB and 7.1 audio (analog and optical). The powerful SP45H7 barebone is available at a recommended price of 357 Euro (incl. VAT). If desired, it can also be purchased as a complete system with Windows Vista pre-installed. Prices of these systems are dependant on the chosen configuration.
