EVGA X58 Classified motherboard preview
EVGA is working on a new motherboard based on Intel's X58 chipset. The board will be known as " EVGA Classified" and has some extraordinary properties. VR-zone published a preview written by overclock-legend Peter Tan " Shamino", who has been part of the development of the new motherboard.

The board features an LGA1366 socket, six DDR3 memory slots and four PCI-e 2.0 x16 slots. Also present are 12 USB ports and 10 SATA-II connectors. Thanks to the additional nForce chip, four graphics cards can be used in 16x/16x/8x/8x mode, as well as three in 16x/16x/16x. When using triple-SLI, there's still room left for a PhysX-card and a soundcard. All four PCI-E x16 slots can be shut down individually, using a jumper. This makes it easy to detect failing graphics cards. All jumpers can also be controlled with a special panel, which also features several reset-buttons.

Another remarkable feature is the revised power provision of both the processor and the memory, making it less sensitive to electromagnetic interference (EMI). The CPU-socket contains three times the amount of gold as those on a regular motherboard, this to decrease the impedance as much as possible. An additional CPU 8-pin connector is required to power the board. The combination of all this should make the board incredibly stable, thus being perfect for overclocking. Several records have already been broken with it in 3DMark Vantage.
