Buffalo introduces two MLC SSD's of 16 and 32 GB to replace the current drive in Dell's Inspiron Mini 9. This 8.9" netbook usually comes with a 4 GB SSD, but 8 and 16 GB models have also become available.
The Inspiron Mini 9 does not have an integrated optical drive, so if you wish to install the standard operating system (Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP) after placing the new SSD, you will require an external CD-drive for the Dell Recovery CD.
Buffalo's SHD-DI9M16G and SHD-DI9M32G disks are already available in Japan and cost respectively 75 and 100 dollar.
