Sandberg launches Fingerprint Hard Disk Box

Sandberg has introduced a harddisk enclosure that will protect your data by way of your own fingerprint. The Fingerprint Hard Disk Box is supplied without a hard drive, but after installing this the user is able to protect different parts of the disk with bio encoding, and can leave other parts unprotected. 

The system can be made to recognise more than one fingerprint, usefull if your usual finger is injured or if more than one person needs to access the data on the drive. This way it is never possible to lose data that you have protected. 

 

The Sandberg Fingerprint Hard Disk Box 2.5" is available "soon" and has the following specifications:

• USB 2.0 interface

• HDD support : 2.5" SATA I / SATA II

• Power/Activity LED

• USB powered

• Aluminium with plastic frame

• External connectors: 1 USB Mini-B female, 1 USB A male

• Internal connectors: SATA connectors for data and power
  

• Sensor: Scanarea: 9,6 mm x 0,8 mm / resolution: 508 dpi / Max: ±20 KV ESD protection / imageformat: 256 grijs (8-bit ADC) / Frame rate: Max. 300 frames/sec
