ASUS HD4870 Matrix edition

Asus is releasing a special version of the Radeon HD4870, the EAH4870 Matrix/HTDI/512M distinguishes itself from the masses by the special cooling and the black PCB, designed by ASUS themselves.

The RV770 chip on the card is clocked at 770 MHz, the 512 MB GDDR5 memory runs at 920 MHz (3,68 GHz).

The special feauture of the Matrix series is that users have a lot of possibilities to change the cards settings. The GPU speed can be easily changed, voltages adjusted and there is the possibility to store all the settings into different profiles. Temperature readings can be seen from different zones on the card and there is a special mode in the software that should minimise the power consumption of the card.

When the card will be in stores or what the price will be of this special version is not known at this point in time.
