Unigine is a real-time multi-platform 3D engine which allows the creation of virtual worlds with graphic and physical calculations. The company behind the engine has designed several demo programs based on it. Those demo's can also be used a benchmark tools. Recently, the new Tropics Demo version 1.1 has been released, which also supports DirectX 10.1

It's a 56 MB demo that is able to use OpenGL, DirectX 9, 10 or 10.1. Because Pixel Shader Model 3.0 is required, the program is compatible with any card from the GeForce 6-serie or ATI Radeon X1 serie with 256MB of memory or newer.

Apart from the DirectX 10.1 support, the demo also has a number of new features compared to its predecessor. Crossfire support has been optimized and nVidia GeForce GTX cards are now detected correctly.

The Tropics Demo can be downloaded from Unigine's website.
