The screen features two HDMI-inputs and is able to process 1080i and 1080p with 60, 50 or 24p signals. The HD2442W also has DVI-D and D-sub ports. Eizo claims a viewing angle of 178° thanks to the S-PVA panel. According to Eizo, the incorporated Cinema-, Thru, and Game-modes are to significantly enhance the performance. In the Game-mode, small color differences are enhanced, making it easier to recognize structures and patterns. For video display, the HD2442W uses de-interlacing to supresss artifacts. In Thru-modes, these functions are disabled and the image will be displayed without delay. Eizo claims a real-time display in this mode. The Thru and Game modes can be active at the same time.

A light sensor measures the ambient light and automatically adjusts the screen's brightness, creating a balanced contrast at all times. The brightness can also be altered manually.

The bundled remote makes it possible for the user to switch to console, dvd player, computer, Picture-in-Picture, Cinema-, Game and Thru-mode. It also allows the volume, bass, height and peaks to be adjusted when speakers are connected.
