To fight the bandwidth hunger of the new Core i7 processors, Intel uses a triple channel DDR3 memory interface on these CPUs. This has led to several manufacturers introducing triple channel kits of their fastest DDR3 memory. Corsair also joins in on this and launches triple-channel DDR3 versions of its Dominator series and Platinum line-up.
Triple channel Corsair Platinum kit at 1333MHz
The new triple-channel Dominators have frequencies of 1600 MHz and only require 1.65V. This makes them fully compatible with all Nehalem motehrboards. Because of the earlier rumors on DDR3 voltage limitations, Corsair has chosen to better be safe than sorry with a lower voltage rather than a higher clock frequency. The latency of the modules are 8-8-8-24.
Triple channel Dominators op 1600 of 1866 MHz
Apar from the 1600MHz kit, Corsair also launches a luxurious Dominator set clocked at 1866MHz. For the entry-level segment, Corsair offers the cheaper Platinum triple-channel series, with effective clockspeeds of 1333 MHz. The Platinum serie will soon be released, the Dominators will follow later on. Image source: Computerbase.
