Shuttle launches the X27D, a new barebone based around a dual core Intel Atom processor. The compact barebone has dimensions of 25 x 18.5 x 7 cm and features an Intel 945GC chipset mini-ITX motherboard with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom 330 dualcore processor. It also has one memory slot which is able to hold up to 2 GB RAM.
There's room for a 2.5" hard disk and a slim-line optical drive in the case. It's built for the SATA interface, but through an optional adaptor, DVD-drive with an IDE connector can still be used. Shuttle has decided to keep the design of the case as sleek as possible by placing all connectors on the back. Apart from the PS/2, four USB ports and 5.1 onboard audio, it also features a DVI output, Gigabit LAN and a COM port.
The case comes with an external 12V adaptor of 60 Watts. The recommended price for Shuttle's new barebone is €205,- (excl. VAT).
