Intel has broken records in the past quarter, it's revenue totaled $10,22 billion, an overall increase of 8% compared to the second quarter of this year. The actual profit over the third quarter came in at 2 billion dollar. Paul Otellini, CEO at Intel, was very pleased with the sales figure and claimed the results were a result of good management and a strong product line-up.

Intel's CEO is a bit less positive about the fourth quarter. The financial crisis could significantly affect profit. A remarkable aspect is the contribution of the Atom processor, which is about 200 million dollar. The impact of the Atom is possibly even bigger, because the price of the entry-model processors has decreased with the coming of the small netbook processor.
