AMD's website shows a new socket AM2 quadcore processor, namely the Opteron 1356. The processor is clocked at 2.3 GHz and based on the existing 65nm 'Barcelona' architecture. It features 512KB of L2-cache for each individual core, as well as 2MB shared L3-cache.

The new Opteron 1356 is based on the B3 revision of Barcelona, making it equal in hardware to a Phenom X4. The difference however lies in the power consumption, a regular Phenom uses between 95 and 125 Watt, while the new Opteron 1000 serie bears a TDP of 75 Watt.  Apart from the 2.3 GHz 1356, a 1354 and 1352 have also been presented. These processors feature respective frequencies of 2.2 and 2.1 Ghz.
