A few days ago, Intel started shipping the dual core version of its energy efficient Atom processor. It has since become known what the dual-core Atom 330 will cost: US $43 (at a quantitiy of 1000). Though the price is several dollars above expectations, it's still US $1 cheaper than the single core Atom N270.
Intel's new Atom chip is a 45 nm processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. It has a shared L2 cache of 1 MB and a 533 MHz FSB. As mentioned earlier, Intel's Atom 330 will not be featured in netbooks, but will be intended for nettop solutions.
