Though the Radeon HD 4770 has already been available in Europe for quite a while, the card was never introduced in one of Asia's largest markets: China. The reason for this is that chip manufacturer TSMC was experiencing low yields of the 40 nm RV740 GPU at the introduction. Expreview reports that a slightly slower version of the HD 4770 is sold in China, under the name Radeon HD 4750.

The graphics card is made by Sapphire, which brands the card Radeon HD 4750 Platinum. The GPU is equipped with 480 stream processors and uses a 128-bit memory interface, in combination with 512 MB of GDDR5 memory. The clock frequency of the core and memory are specified at respectively 750 MHz and 800 MHz (3200 MHz effectively). This makes the memory bandwidth of the HD 4750 equal to that of the HD 4770.

Sapphire's Radeon HD 4750 Platinum features a D-Sub, DVI and an HDMI output and is compatible with CrossFireX. Like the HD 4770, the rear of the card is equipped with a 6-pin PCI-Express power connector, indicating that the HD 4750 requires more power than the 75 Watt the PCI-Express slot can provide. It won't be much more than 75 Watt though, given the fact that the HD 4770 sports an 80 Watt TDP.

Sapphire's new graphics card costs the equivalent of €70.
