MSI has several P55 motherboards ready for launch, including the Micro-ATX P55M-GD45. Because more functionality gets integrated into the motherboards nowadays, less expansion cards are required, allowing the boards to shrink down in size without losing performance. MSI's latest creation had already surfaced in some webshops as a pre-order, but now images of the board have also been released.
As the image below shows, MSI has incorporated its trademark colour scheme of black and blue on the new P55M-GD45 as well. MSI has used a 4-phase DrMOS power design around the LGA 1156 socket. Apart from its four DDR3 memory slots and two PCI-Express 16x slots, there's also a regular PCI slot and a small PCI-Express 1x connector.

The P55 chipset, cooled by a small aluminum heatsink, powers six internal SATA 3 Gbps connectors and thanks to an additional chip, connectors for PATA and floppy. The board features so-called V-Check points, which allow the voltages of several components to be measured.
The P55M-GD45's I/O panel is equipped with 10x USB, two eSATA ports, Gigabit LAN, Firewire, 7.1 onboard audio and PS/2. Pre-orders are available with a pricetag of about 100 euro.
