Though most of the attention is drawn to the new Lynnfield desktop processors, Intel has also made significant progress in the mobile segment. The Pine Trail-M platform, slightly delayed due to Intel's Core i5 focus, will be following up the Atom in the first quarter of 2010. The new chips will be codenamed Pineview and incorporate the IGP and memorycontroller into the processor itself, only requiring an additional chip for connectivity. This will make the processor cheaper, faster and more efficient.
It was already known that the Atom N450 processor will be launched on the Pine Trail-M platform. This 1,66 GHz chip will also receive a faster brother, branded N470. The Atom N470 will feature a 1,83 GHz clock frequency, 667 MHz FSB and a specified TDP of 6,5 Watt. Given the integrated functionality, the power consumption is remarkably low. Another notable fact is the N470's HyperThreading support, allowing two seperate threads to be processed by the CPU simultaneously.
With Lynnfield released, Intel will once again be able to focus on the successor of the current Atom-generation. As mentioned, the next generation is expected to be introduced in early 2010.

The Pine Trail Platform will only consists of two chips
